Big Annoucement!

Hi guys! Sorry I've been super absent but I've been super busy! I finally...drum roll please....got a job! I'm going to be a school nurse and I can't wait to tell you all about it! I'm going to continue with the blog (I promise) to keep helping you all along because I know it's a tough road out there. So keep you head up and have faith! It took me 8 months, a million hand cramps, and a few boxes of Kleenex. And finally, here's a Good Song to help spread the love.

  1. Hi, found your website in a nursing forum and was appreciative over it. My name is Leah and I'm also a new grad! I have been following for about 2 weeks now. First, CONGRATULATIONS on the job. It has been very difficult for us new grads, I know.

If you don't mind, I have a question. One, in re: pre-reqs for the school position RN, did they require you to go through a credential program. And two, did you have any sort of experience that made you more able to get this position? I'd be ever so grateful for some small talk via e-mail: leah.abesamis@gmail.com

Thanks so much and CONGRATULATIONS AGAIN!

    1. I have to go through a credential program but I have 5 years to complete it. I have a pre-liminary credential and after I complete the necessary coursework I will get a permanente credential and be fully certified, but I also have to have 2 years of school nursing before I take classes. As for experience, not really. I help out at my Aunt's daycare and I was a tutor for a few years so I have lots of experience working with children and I'm really comfortable around them.

  2. Congratulations!!! What certifications did you need for the school job? I've seen some school nurse positions that require the school nurse certifications from the BRN, did you need these? If so how long did it take to get them?
